Good Day Sweetums,
I adore the 1950s. I adore the petticoats, the flowers, the frill, the hats, all of it! The 1940s, however, holds a deeper feeling of admiration for me. The simple glamour of it all. The lines and shapes, the pants, the long less frilly skirts.
The whole "Rainbow High" look from Evita.
Upon, seeing this dress on Unique Vintage, it had the total 1940s look I have always craved. Boy, it did not disappoint.
Now the thing to note with Tatyana Boutique, is the sizes tend to run a little large. Normally I am a size medium, however when I visited the store in San Francisco the dresses that fit me better were size small.
I was apprehensive about ordering a size small. What if I was mistaken? What if I grew? I even asked the glorious vixen, Miss Victory Violet, what she thought & she said get true to size.
So, I ordered a medium. Now, it was a tad big & without a belt it would look like it had extra fabric around the waist. I think a small would have worked, however the bust area is a bit smaller to squeeze into.
I will be taking in the extra fabric, because I would like to wear it without the belt eventually.
Other than that, this dress just makes you feel like a million dollars from the color, to the quality in the fabric. It's an amazing dress!
Shoes of course were one of my go too's: B.A.IT. Footwear
Purse & hat & gloves: Moon Zoom San Jose, CA
Tatyana Boutique, you did it again! <3 Stole my breath away!
It's also on sale, so you might want to hop on that!
