FINALLY a recipe that includes Disney! Why I didn't think of this before, I have NO idea!
Back when I ate beef I remember trying the Disney Chili located in Frontier Land, but soon after I decided I no longer wanted beef in my diet and it became a thing of the past. Literally, forgotten until filming this week's RETRO RECIPE!
The things I changed were that of the meat...duh...from beef to turkey.
Original Recipe found here:
Walt Disney Chili Recipe cut in half:
1 lb. coarse ground beef
1/2 onion, sliced
2 cloves garlic
1/4 cup oil
1/2 cup chopped celery
1/2 tsp. chili powder (depending on taste)
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/2 tsp. dry mustard
1/2 large can solid pack tomatoes
1 lb. dry pink beans
Then for MORE flavor! <3
Add a pinch of the following spices:
1 little yellow Mexican chili pepper
I'm going to include the original instructions just because! <3
1. Soak beans overnight in cold water.
2. Drain, add water to cover (2 inches over beans), and simmer with onions until tender (about 4 hours).
3. Meanwhile, prepare sauce by browning meat and minced garlic in oil. Add remaining ingredients, and simmer for 1 hour. When beans are tender, add sauce to beans and simmer for 1/2 hour."
However, I just added everything into a pot and let it simmer for a half hour and it was DELICIOUS!
It was a really tasty, tasty recipe that I truly enjoyed!
