Hey there Sweets,
Before we get into the lovely details of the dress, shoes & purse, I would like to call attention to my hair! If it looks like it was freshly dyed, that would be because it was stained with blood (my blood). These pictures were taken 3 days after a bucket hit my head & the scene from Carrie (you know the scene) ran down my face! What I learned from this whole experience is heads bleed a lot, sometimes doctors like to staple you back together & that blood makes a really good natural hair spray/gel. Your welcome. It's been a 2+ weeks now. Staples are out, my noggin is still a little tender, but all in all I'M ALIVE!
Let's talk about this dress! My lovely Krista bought it for me, I suppose, as a surprise gift before I auditioned for "The Next Food Network Star". I had fallen in love with it online, but trying it on in person at the PinUp Girl Clothing Boutique sold me on just how lovely all Jenny dresses are.
This dress has everything you're looking for in a swing dress, but the difference that makes me love it even more is how simple it is. There are plenty of Jenny dresses that have patterns on them (I love the Tiki dress...they just don't sell it anymore), but a lot of them have a solid color. To me, this makes pairing accessories or hats with it much more easy.
So here's a little secret, or maybe it's not a secret I just don't read descriptions very well.....there is two wires that run up the top front portion of this dress. It almost reminds me of boning in a corset. Meaning it kind of flattens out or keeps everything in shape/form. Which I love! (I think it's also great for posture!)
I wear a size medium & it fits like a glove up top!
Now I can't seem to locate the actual dress, as PinUp Girl Clothing tends to change as fashion normally does. However, the have other impeccable colors & patterns!
Check it out!
On too shoes!
So as I mentioned on my Instagram (@MissSemiSweet), Unique Vintage has come up with a really clever idea called "Catch Of The Day". Basically, it's broken down as such...
$25 for Swim
$20 for Shoes
$15 for Bottoms
$25 for Dress
& so on....
Now, you don't know what exactly you're getting. That's the minus to it. Especially for me who's kind of particular when it comes to length of dresses & so on, however there are numerous positives! Say you're tight on money, but you have a unique vintage shopping addiction, this is a positive! Say you're super close to getting free shipping, but not quite there yet! POSITIVE! That's what happened in my case...I was so close, but I was still going to have to spend like $20 on shipping, so instead I got some shoes. In that moment I was able to complete the whole ensemble.
JUST MY LUCK!
I opened my box of Delicious Footwear & it was a pair of nude heels. I have been on the hunt for a cute pair of nude heels & now my quest is over! Glorious, isn't it.
Keep all those things in mind, but maybe one day through caution to the wind & let Unique Vintage treat you to some unknown goodies!
My purse? Did you think I forgot...
I got it from of course my favorite vintage thrift store 2525 Vintage! Find them on Facebook & Intagram!
